The first Cooking Class Series will start on the 8th of January. There will be 4 classes in this series that concentrate on the importance of fresh simple ingredients coupled with simple techniques that will help any novice in the kitchen cook foods better, helping to retain vitamins; make foods more flavorful; and make it easier to get meals on the table with less time spent in the kitchen.
Learning new techniques when cooking takes some work and practice; so be prepared to put effort into these classes and to take what you learn from the classes and use the information; you have to work at it, you have to practice the techniques. The classes are “hands on” and require you to cook side by side with me. I truly believe that the more you get involved with the class, the more you will get out of it. I am going to show you some very important techniques that will require you to practice at home in order for you to become proficient at them and help you to save time at home when you are cooking. I’m going to try to get you to fall in love with food!
General Description of Classes:
The classes will last about 2-2 1/2 hours. We will first sit down as a group and go over the recipes and techniques that will be learned in the class. Then after a short discussion we will go into the kitchen and start cooking. You will learn new ways to sanitize, chop, dice, slice, peel, sauté, bake, broil, grill, braise, boil, whisk, and control your food environment. When we are done in the kitchen the class will all sit down at the table while I utilize what we have cooked in the class and we will eat together while discussing whatever anyone has on there minds relating to that day in class. We also at this time will discuss things to work on in the future, ideas that you have for things you want to learn, and I will suggest what can be done for you to become better prepared for the next class.
You will want to bring pen/pencil and a notebook for class use only, an apron, appropriate clothing for cooking in the kitchen (comfortable washable wear), a knife that you will be using at home, and an open mind. I suggest you take any notes down that could help you and ask a lot of questions. These classes are for your benefit. It is important to note that those people that sign up for the first class in each cooking class series will have first priority to secure a spot in the next class in the series. It is also important for you to know that payment for the class is your way of reserving a spot in the class. The maximum class size is 16 people and the cost for each class is $29.00.
To reserve a spot for the first class please email me at itsmychef@hotmail.com or call the restaurant-715-543-8909 and make your payment. The cost for each class is $29.00.
